Label head Halffish delivers the second EP on Edge Network, featuring remixes from pals Vitling and DJ Sterni! The Forage Booster EP is a playful, psychedelic memory of non-native woodland creatures descending on hidden, sheltered meadows outside the city limits, all while evading the unfriendly local pig populations. Long and hot summer days followed by warm, short nights and long hot days once again; when the only option is going outside, this EP is about going even farther out.
The title track is rocket fuel for scrounging through the undergrowth. With the sun bursting through the leaves above, loping basslines and kaleidoscopic synths forge a footpath through the foliage. Two parts forest rave propellent, and three parts psychotropic sustenance, and one part vitamin supplement for sheep, this one will take you very, very far afield.

Crisp breaks and sparkling melodies lay the groundwork on A Sound. A transfigured vocal sample bends forward and backwards in the foreground tells you exactly what it is you’re hearing through the trees so far away.

On Fangschleuse, heavy bass and bombastic drums barrel through the gates of the canal locks, flooding creeks and rivers. A bouncy melody and airy pads keep things bright as the track ducks, dips, builds and drops.

With his remix of A Sound, DJ Sterni anchors lighting-fast breaks to a deep sub bass. Morphing and stretching different sounds into a celestial canopy, this is a track for when late becomes early.

Rounding things out on the release, Vitling kicks things into overdrive with his remix of Fangschleuse. A dizzying barrage of mutating synths leads the remix out of the gate, and a massive drum groove sets it on course. A high-energy flight through dense vegetation, this track is an ode to the power and wonder of nature, a fitting finale for our frolic in the forest.
